Our Story
At Roman Cement, we set out to improve concrete by optimizing how mineral fines, SCMs, and cement work together. We noticed that conventional blended cements are interground without regard to individual particle sizes. We hypothesized that assigning each component—cement, SCMs, and fillers—to its own optimized particle size range would improve hydration, strength, and flow while allowing us to use less clinker.
We developed a practical, proprietary process to do exactly that. The result is high-packing-density blends with broad particle size distributions that maintain excellent performance with significantly lower cement content and carbon emissions.
We then brought this technology to ready-mix, precast, and pavement producers. Through extensive lab testing, we refined methods to optimize their existing mixes using complementary off-the-shelf mineral fines and SCMs—delivering stronger, more durable concrete with less cement and a lower environmental impact.
